When you go out to purchase the trigger trap mobile make sure that you select the correct version for your camera as of course there are versions to match your camera’s connectors.

It only took me a few minutes to get the cables connected to the camera and app downloaded to my iPhone.  I also have an android device so I made sure the app was also installed.

For the iPhone’s i noticed that in order to execute the wifi triggering with two Iphone devices, the operating system versions has to be 5.0 and above.  So if the main buying point for you is the wireless triggering via wifi, then make sure your iphone devices fit the IOs requirment.

Before you check out my first use experience check out these youtube videos below to give you a different perspective on what I might reveal.

Ok I am not going to count my first use as an actual first use case due to my iphone’s technical issues.  I first attempted to use the trigger trap for a family holiday shoot.

When the camera settings were finally finalized and ready to fire via the trigger trap mobile using the wifi master and slave mode using another iphone device to fire the camera, I experienced some wifi issues with the residence and devices. The signal continue to drop out and was only able to trigger the camera a few times so i discontinued the use of the wifi triggering and utlized the sound sensor option and worked great.

I did want to highlight my latest shoot that can be a true first use case.  First let me give you a little background of the shoot concept to get an idea on why I used a particular Trigger Trap Mobile feature.
The shoot concept was for a local DJ that is known to be a bedroom DJ. So i wanted to capture a conceptualized image that communcated a bedroom DJ. Which spawned the image you see below.

Since I was capturing an image of multiple inanimate objects, the main feature that fit my need was the sound sensor. With the sound sensor, I set the triggering audible to the least sensitive so that i don’t prematurely trigger the camera.

The Trigger Trap mobile sound sensor is an amazing feature. I was able to move around the room and tweak certain elements and simply YELL…”SHOOT” and pow I hear the camera click within seconds.  I LOVE IT!  I can’t wait to use the other features if they fit the shoot.

A FEW OF THE FEATURES I FOUND MOST USEFUL FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS: (view a full listing at the manufacturer website)

  • Sound Sensor triggering
  • Shock Vibration triggering
  • Motion detection mode
  • Wi-Fi Master to Slave triggering

Let’s just say that now before every shoot, I think of how I can use the Triggertrap mobile to conveniently trigger my camera. It’s really an ingenious tool meant to help photographer capture their images. When I used the sound sensor feature I was blown away.  I can’t wait to try out the shock vibration triggering to capture moving objects heavy enough to move the ground.  So if you want to make your life easy pick up a Triggertrap mobile. The Triggertrap mobile is only $29.99 right now in amazon as of 2/16/13.
