Review

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:

Packaging is great as I can re-use the packaging when storing in my camera bag.  When initially examining the Black Rapid RS –DR-1 Double Strap, I could already trust that it can support my camera with attached lens.

The installation to my DSLR was also fairly easy and it felt secure which is important. You should also tighten it pretty well so it doesn’t loosen.

AFTER FIRST USE:

Ouch. My camera fell. In defense to BlackRapid, I don’t blame them. The reason the ConnectR-1 detached from my camera body is because I didn’t re-tighten it before the shoot. It is recommended that before any shoot re-tighten the ConnectR after storage.

For the next few shoots following the recommendation above, I didn’t experience any more issues with ConnectR. It’s great for carrying my two Nikon DSLRs with attached lenses.

A FEW OF THE FEATURES I FOUND MOST USEFUL FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS INCLUDE: (view a full listing at the manufacturer website)

  • ·          Easily adjustable to fit your body just right.
  • ·          Ergonomic and Sleek
  • ·          Modifiable with other Black Rapid Products.
  • ·          Easy to use.

You can find the full details of the Black Rapid DR-1 Double Strap here: http://www.blackrapid.com/product/camera-strap/dr1/

CONCLUSION:

If you use two bodies for a shoot, then a double strap is a must for fast change up from one camera to the next. The Black Rapid DR-1 does a great job. If you want thinner double strap it looks like Black Rapid also has the DR-2 Slim Double Strap.

About the Author

Lawrence
As a weekend photographer, I found myself with limited time and limited resources in terms of expanding my photographic ability due to my career. Like many weekend photography warriors, there are only 2 hours on the weekdays and maybe 8 hours or so total on the weekend to learn and grow. These time constraints is what motivated me into creating this online photography resource. I needed a photography hub where all the information I referred to is stored in one easy to navigate online location. I see this more of my online repository of photography information gathered through time. I am very proud of the success of my blog offering of "Photographer Interview Series". You will read in-depth interviews from the photography world's famous photographers. Names like David Tejada, Nick Onken, Michael Grecco and David Bean to name a few. The interview series has also expanded to include weekend photographers and now wedding photographers with the similar goal of learning from each other. My goal is to evolve this site to be the premier go to resource for photographer interviews and equipment reviews.
