I love collapsible. The lightsphere collapsible snoot means smaller form factor during transport and storage The small form factor of the collapsed snoot is a huge feature for strobist that do not want to bring too much lighting modifiers on location.
The lightsphere collapsible snoot is made well and seem to provide the same protection to my flash as the lightsphere. Therefore, you will never need to remove the lightsphere collapsible snoot for transport and use unless you need to alternate modifiers.
AFTER FIRST USE:
As a lightsphere collapsible user, the lightsphere collapsible snoot was an easy product to get accustomed. I followed the same procedure to attach and detach the lightsphere collapsible snoot. The simplicity of the application made it easy to effectively use this lighting modifier as desired.

For the first time, I used the Gary Fong lightsphere collapsible snoot at a wedding capacity. The lightsphere collapsible snoots were used for subject edge lights. Since the lightsphere collapsible snoot is made of a black non-transparent plastic, it prevented the light to bleed into the walls which were lit via constant colored event lighting.
The lightsphere collapsible snoot did an amazing job preventing the light to bleed on the walls to truly create that spotlight type effect and allow the colored constant lighting your clients spent so much to use remain intact in their images.
Since the lightsphere snoot is collapsible, when a broad light is needed all that is required is to collapse the snoot and voila broad light.
A FEW OF THE FEATURES I FOUND MOST USEFUL FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS: (view a full listing at the manufacturer website
- Ability to direct light
As you progress as a photographer, the need to control light becomes more and more prevalent. As you move away from purely a “natural light” workflow, light modifiers become a key piece of gear in your photography arsenal. The Gary Fong lightsphere collapsible snoot surely doesn’t disappoint.
